The Cardinals could look to move on from four players to clear cap space.

In most businesses people get fired for not performing up to expectations, the NFL is no exception. And the Arizona Cardinals are no stranger of the previously mentioned notion, as in the 2018 off-season as the team cut beloved star safety Tyrann Mathieu due to an extensive injury history, and lack of performance relative to his contract. The team will surely do the same with other players in 2019 as they sit at a hair over $40M in cap space during a vital off-season that could easily see them spending big bucks to patch a roster with holes scattered across the board.

While the four players mentioned might have been key players and draft picks in the past, the time has come for a departure. One player that was not but nearly listed is left tackle and 2014-first-rounder D.J. Humphries who has dealt with injuries; more specifically, has missed 18 games over the past two seasons. While the Cardinals could very well cut him and save $9.625M, per Over The Cap, Humphries has flashed potentially as a reliable blindside protector over his career – a position the Cardinals cannot afford to lose talent at.
