Cardinals get a pass rusher and a bevy of picks, Giants get their quarterback of the future

Arizona Cardinals acquire: 2019 2nd-round pick (No. 37), 2019 4th-round pick (No. 108), 2019 4th round via Saints (No. 132), 2020 3rd-round pick, 2020 5th-round pick, OLB Olivier Vernon

New York Giants acquire: QB Josh Rosen

The Giants still don’t have a plan in place for life after Eli Manning, as Kyle Lauletta‘s mediocre performance in his small sample size didn’t inspire much confidence in New York. But that changes in this trade, as the Giants mortgage their depth picks and immediate impact ones for Rosen, while also throwing in a pass rusher they invested heavily in.

For the Cardinals, they get more picks to rebuild a roster with multiple holes. While this trade doesn’t have the flashy first-round pick fans might covet, it gives Steve Keim an opportunity to plug holes on the roster. Not only would the Cardinals have three picks in the top 40 with this trade, but they also get a pass rusher to contribute now in Olivier Vernon.

However, Vernon could be viewed as a neutral asset as he would have a cap hit of over $15M over the next two years. If the Cardinals are disinterested in such a large contract, other tradeable assets include WR Sterling Shepard, CB Janoris Jenkins, or DT Dalvin Tomlinson.
