The Arizona Cardinals released their only backup quarterback in Mike Glennon on Friday

Now the search is on in free agency for backup quarterbacks.  The Arizona Cardinals will need one after they decided to release Mike Glennon on Friday.

The question is, will the backup be the backup to Josh Rosen or to Kyler Murray?  That certainly remains to be seen.  Which three guys could the Cardinals conceivably look at?

Teddy Bridgewater

After making a comeback from a gruesome leg injury a couple of years ago, Bridgewater will be on the move again.  He came back with the New York Jets then on to the New Orleans Saints.

The Saints will move on from Bridgewater and there are so many guesses where Birdgewater could end up in 2019.  Not many people have guessed the Cardinals but then again they just had an opening for a backup come available 24 hours ago.

He likely doesn’t end up in Arizona but should still be someone the Cardinals take a look at.  He’s still young and has mobility.  His style could gel with what will be run in Arizona on offense.

His 2018 salary was a bit higher than Glennon’s but that likely wouldn’t deter the Cardinals from looking at him in free agency.  Bridgewater will be a backup no matter where he lands.
