Arizona Cardinals: Evaluating the pros and cons of Kyler Murray

In the first part in a two-part series comparing the pros and cons of both Josh Rosen and Kyler Murray, we look at what makes Josh Rosen a promising prospect, and what he can work on.

I don’t know how we ended up here. Just 11 months ago Josh Rosen was undoubtedly the quarterback of the future for the Arizona Cardinals. But here we are, with a somehow legitimate quarterback controversy surrounding the Cardinals highlighted by the question of Josh Rosen or Kyler Murray.

While I believe there is a very little chance that the Arizona Cardinals will draft Kyler Murray, there is substance to why they would do so. The most obvious; his 2018 was one of greatest seasons by a quarterback in NCAA history, which earned him a Heiman trophy.

Because of the nature of having the first overall pick, every single option will be on the table for Redbirds, even at quarterback. In most league circles, Murray is thought of as the top quarterback in a weak class. He has the game to make a general manager look like a genius, and the flaws to get one fired just as easily.

With all that being said, let’s look at Murray’s pros and cons as a prospect for the Arizona Cardinals.
