Pierre Garcon
Career stats: 628 receptions, 7,854 yards, 38 touchdowns
The Pierre Garcon experiment in San Francisco didn’t quite work out, and at 32-years-old, it’s fair to wonder if he can continue to be productive in the NFL. However, just three seasons ago Garcon was a 1,000+ yard receiver at 30-years-old.
Garcon has a familiarity of repetition based spread-style passing attacks (played under Shanahan, and McVay offenses), and has the game to be productive under Kliff Kingsbury’s offense. His understandings of the nuances of playing as a versatile receiver will not fade away, nor will his ability to run himself open.
After 11 seasons in the NFL, Garcon has made quite the name for himself as a consistent receiver that can handle a large workload. He’s also known to be a great locker room personality that can get the best out of his teammates. He won’t be the fastest guy on the field, but his football intelligence and finite route running would be a nice addition for the new look Cardinals.
It’s also nice to take away from the 49ers, even if they did release him.
