Report: Arizona Cardinals meeting Kyler Murray in Oklahoma
By Avery Duncan
Just when you thought the Arizona Cardinals and Kyler Murray noise was starting to die down.
The Arizona Cardinals are meeting with Kyler Murray at the University of Oklahoma campus. NFL insider Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle broke the news via Twitter, saying;
"Heisman Trophy winner Kyler Murray is meeting on the Oklahoma campus with Cardinals GM Steve Keim and coach Kliff Kingsbury, according to a league source"
Wilson confirmed the meeting will take place today, March 19th.
Obviously, this isn’t the first time the Red Sea has heard the rumblings of Kyler Murray to the Arizona Cardinals. Back in October of 2018, when Kliff Kingsbury was the head coach of Oklahoma rival Texas Tech, the new Cardinals head coach praised Murray and even said he would take him with the first pick if he had the chance. Well, now he does.
Kingsbury has also acknowledged that he scouted Murray coming out of high school. And despite the team using the tenth pick in the 2018 NFL Draft to select quarterback Josh Rosen, Murray has been said to be a perfect fit for the Arizona Cardinals.
Murray is the 2018 Heisman trophy winner and 2018 first-round pick by the MLB’s Oakland Athletics. Pro Football Focus graded him as their top prospect in the draft, as he finished the year with an elite 94.6 grade.
