1. Robert Alford

As soon as he was signed, the first player to sign with the Cardinals back in February, he already was the best signing they were going to have all offseason.  We aren’t the only ones to notice either.  ESPN gave this signing a high mark as well.

Alford, released by the Atlanta Falcons, mainly because of money was a no-brainer guy for the Cardinals.  For years they have been trying to find a starter opposite Patrick Peterson.

Now they have a guy that can get it done.  Alford has a huge contract at 3-years $22 million but it will be well worth it.

Alford immediately brings this tandem of he and Peterson to the top of the list as far as tandem cornerbackers go in the NFL.  He has 10 career interceptions and 85 passes defensed over his first six NFL seasons.

With Alford at 30, you do start to think about age a bit, but he doesn’t turn 31 until halfway through the 2019 regular season.  Barring injury, he should be able to play out his contract.
