The first selection isn’t in an ACC mock draft is probably not gonna be a top ten pick, but there is still a lot of depth in the first few rounds in the ACC. Clelin Ferrell is a great pick in this mock draft because he should off his abilities at the highest level and the biggest of stages. The 2019 champion is a great pass rusher standing at 6-foot-4 with 264-pounds of muscle, with great pass rushing skills.

Ferrell was a part of that imposing Clemson D-Line last year with his teammates Christian Wilkins and Dexter Lawrence, but he still found a way to shine. He has active hands off the line of scrimmage that allows him to place moves on opposing O-Lineman to get to the quarterback. His used fast hands to get to the quarterback, but also after showing his strength on the field and off with 25 reps at the combine with those longs arms he possesses.

The 2018 ACC Defensive Player of the Year showed in many games this year that he is unstoppable at times, for example in the National Championship against probable first rounder Jonah Williams. Although there where many games where he would disappear, maybe because of all the talent around him, but possibly because the rush speed sometimes isn’t always there in the 4th quarter. Although when this kid is on he is a different type of animal, looking like he could be a potential Pro-Bowler someday and have a very long career in the NFL.

No way Clelin Ferrell will be sitting at pick number 33, but if he was to fall there he would be a great edge rush presence in Arizona. With Chandler Jones on the other side, who will get double teamed at times next season, Ferrell would have a lot of one-on-one opportunities. Ferrell’s excellent snap recognition and ability to get off the line fits well with the already speedy and youthful Cardinals defense.
