Josh Rosen shows true class on way out of Arizona
By Scott Allen
Former Arizona Cardinals and current Miami Dolphins quarterback Josh Rosen showed what a class act he was on Saturday
So much ridiculousness was made of his unfollowing the Arizona Cardinals on social media by national media on Friday. It would have been easy for Josh Rosen to just pack up and leave town quietly after being traded to the Miami Dolphins.
He did quite the opposite. He put out a video on Saturday afternoon thanking fans and the Cardinals organization. He said he would be a Cardinal for life.
Oh, one more thing he did. He offered up his place and wished the best for new Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray.
It didn’t end there. Rosen showed up to the Larry Fitzgerald Softball charity game on Saturday night in Scottsdale at Salt River Fields. Have I mentioned he also stayed after the game to sign autographs for fans?
He stayed in Arizona one more day because of his commitment to Fitz and the charity. He didn’t want to talk about the trade which was completely understandable. However Fitz thanked him in front of fans and Rosen had more thank you’s to fans on the microphone before the game.
All that was going on didn’t affect him either. He won the home run derby and the game MVP Saturday night.
So, for a man that supposedly was a problem off the field certainly did not act like one on Saturday. Some outside of Arizona suggested he was only doing all that because someone told him to.
I doubt it. This is who Rosen has been since he’s been in Arizona. We don’t care what happened at UCLA at this point. Was he immature there? Maybe if reports are true but he was nothing but a true professional in Arizona.
Some national media were just looking for ways to tear Rosen down. They couldn’t understand why Rosen wouldn’t want to be around for a quarterback competition? Hint, there was never going to be one. Period.
Now he heads to Miami on Sunday. We thank you Josh Rosen for being a true pro and representing the Cardinals well. Only time will tell if the decision to move on and take Murray was the right call but we wish you nothing but the best. Kick ass and take names in south Florida!
