Arizona Cardinals rookie mini-camp begins tomorrow
By Avery Duncan
The newest Arizona Cardinals will begin to practice with the team on Friday, May 10th.
The Arizona Cardinals will finally be able to work with Kyler Murray and the ten other draft picks starting tomorrow and throughout the weekend. Though Kingsbury and Co. will have just three days to work with his draft picks before the slew of mini-camps, and training camp, this will be a vital time to see what the roster looks like.
All eyes will be on Kyler Murray as he attempts to prove the naysayers wrong and right the ship for a Cardinals franchise that went 3-13 just a year ago. However, there are more star rookies to watch including Andy Isabella, Byron Murphy, Hakeem Butler, Zach Allen, Deionte Thompson, and KeeSean Johnson.
Outside of the seven aforementioned players, mini-camp will be interesting to watch as undrafted free agent’s attempt to make the roster along with the seventh round picks (Joshua Miles, Michael Dogbe, Caleb Wilson). Some interesting undrafted free agents to watch include linebacker’s Dante Booker, James Folston Jr., and Anthony Wheeler.
While the rookie mini-camp isn’t vital for many (mainly the top picks), this is a tryout to get to the NFL for late-rounders and undrafted free agents alike. However, the 2019 rookie mini-camp is surely to be exciting just for the opportunity to see Kyler Murray and the gang in Cardinal Red in Tempe.
And don’t worry, at Raising Zona, we’ll be sure to cover all things rookie mini-camp. Because, well, it’s Cardinals football, kind of.
