The Arizona Cardinals 2019 draft class one of the best since Steve Keim’s arrival

One of the things that some people took issue with former Arizona Cardinals coach Bruce Arians was his use of rookies.  He didn’t like to play them, much less start them.

While it wasn’t always the case it did seem to be more the rule rather than the exception.  For Kliff Kingsbury, he’s not going to have a choice at a number of positions.

Players that will definitely start at some point

QB Kyler Murray

DE Zach Allen

WR Andy Isabella

CB Byron Murphy

We all know just how young this team will be this season even given the veterans the Cardinals have on the current roster.  However these four guys listed above will all have immediate impacts on the team.

Murray will be the starting quarterback.  He wasn’t drafted number one to sit on the sidelines.  Despite what Kingsbury says, Murray will start if healthy.

Allen is the real deal on the defensive line.  He has an excellent shot at being a starter week one for the Cardinals.

As for Isabella, he is projected to be the number three receiver behind Larry Fitzgerald and Christian Kirk.  He’s fast and has good hands.  He could have a sneaky great rookie campaign.

Murphy is going to challenge Tramaine Brock Sr. for the starting job likely opposite Robert Alford over the first six weeks of the season in absence of Patrick Peterson.  Once Peterson returns, Murphy may be good enough to be the starter opposite him.

Players that could start at some point

WR Hakeem Butler

WR KeeSean Johnson

S Deionte Thompson

Butler and Johnson both will get plenty of playing time.  How much either one of them may start this season remains to be seen.  Remember, the receiver room is pretty full at the moment.

Next. Cardinals better than zero chance of winning. dark

As for Thompson, we still need to see what he offers in training camp and the preseason, but the safety out of Alabama may surprise some people.  He could be in line to be starting before the season ends.
