Many are not giving the Arizona Cardinals much chance of winning more than a few games in 2019

When you bring in a new coach, a rookie quarterback, a new defense, and you turnover half your roster, you can expect changes.  When you bring in an offensive minded coach with a number one pick and bring in highly regarded veteran free agents trying to win now, there are risks in that.

The Cardinals have a lot of young players on the roster but judging by their offseason additions, they’ve not go into a full rebuild.  There are areas of rebuild but not as a whole.

The Cardinals are banking on this “rebuild” to win games sooner than later.  In order to do that, they had to take some risks.

Terrell Suggs

There is no secret Cardinals fans were not happy the team skipped over him in the 2003 draft in favor of Levi Brown.  Now 16 years later he gets to come back to his college home to play in front of his Arizona fans.

At 36, will turn 37 during the 2019 season, he may have two years at best in the desert.  His knowledge and leadership on the defense will help younger players.

However this also could have been a spot reserved for another younger player if the Cardinals were looking for a true rebuild.  It is a risk taking an older player at this point but after finishing 3-13 in 2018, it’s a risk worth taking.
