Kliff Kingsbury
If the biggest risk the Cardinals took in the offseason wasn’t Murray, then it may have been in hiring Kingsbury as their head coach. He was just a little over a month removed from being fired as head coach at Texas Tech.
The Cardinals and New York Jets were both reportedly after Kingsbury but he landed in Arizona. He brings his Air Raid offense to the NFL.
No doubt he will bring excitement to the offensive side of the ball. There is worry however that it may not be the cure to fixing all the woes from a season ago.
However, the Cardinals should be commended for taking the chance. If it doesn’t work, it doesn’t work. Kingsbury though needs to be given more than one season to make this work.
Give Kingsbury time to build a winner. If we can see a gradual improvement over the next two to three years, then it is clear this was the right move.
There is not much room to go down after a 3-13 season but there are some who are predicting it. With the staff Kingsbury brought in, I wouldn’t count on it.
