These five positions could see some training camp competition for the Arizona Cardinals

There is always some level of competition in training camp even if the starters or guys making the final 53-man roster are pretty much well known.  For the Arizona Cardinals in 2019 this is no different.

There are certain positions you already know the winner, like say at starting quarterback, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t a competition for the third quarterback if the Cardinals so choose to keep three.  So these are positions currently looked at as having good competition.

Inside linebacker

Dennis Gardeck, Joe Walker, Dante Booker, Tanner Vallejo

These four guys couple be competing for one spot.  Gardeck would seem to have the inside edge.  He was a nice surprise in camp last season and played well at times.

Walker and Vallejo have NFL experience while Booker is the rookie, an undrafted one at that.  This always seems to be one of the positions that gives us a surprise for the Cardinals however.

With four other inside linebackers seemingly set, maybe none of these guys make it.  However this is what training camp is for.

Linebacker was a difficult position for the Cardinals to manage last season.  Depth will be key for them this season.
