The Arizona Cardinals currently have seven safeties on their 90-man roster

From top to bottom this could be one of the strongest positions on defense, if not the team.  The Arizona Cardinals have two rookie safeties but they are highly regarded.

Cut time could be an interesting one when looking at this position.  It may come down to how many total cornerbacks and safeties the Cardinals want to carry overall.

Starters

Budda Baker figures to be a starter.  He is entering his third season and keeps getting stronger.  He 95 tackles last season, two of which resulted in a quarterback sack.

He had seven passes defensed his rookie season but officially just one last season.  He also makes great contributions on special teams.  He is known as a hard hitter who finds himself in the right spot more often than not.

D.J. Swearinger returned to the Cardinals late in the 2018 season after being released by the Washington Redskins.  He was claimed off waivers prior to their week 17 game against the Seattle Seahawks but did not play.

Now fans are excited to see Swearinger in a Cardinals uniform for the second time.  He spent part of 2015 and all of 2016 with the team.  He could be a starter as well.
