The Arizona Cardinals top 100 players in franchise history, celebrating 100 years of football in 2019 from Chicago to St. Louis to Arizona

Not only is the NFL celebrating 100 years so are the Arizona Cardinals.  Starting in Chicago then to St. Louis, and then finally landing in the desert in Arizona in 1988.

They’ve now been in the desert 30 of those 100 years.  We count down from 100, starting here with numbers 100-91.

#100 Drew Stanton

You must be thinking, how did this guy make the list, even at number 100?  Well, something should be said for the job he did in relief of Carson Palmer in 2014 and 2017.

Originally signed as a free agent to be the starting quarterback in 2013, Stanton wasn’t in that position long, no matter how much then head coach Bruce Arians tried to sell us on it.  Although Stanton was only the starter when Palmer was out, he was still productive enough.

He helped lead the Cardinals to an NFC Wild Card spot in 2014.  Palmer only started six games that season.  Stanton went 5-3 that season to help secure the playoff spot.

Unfortunately Stanton got hurt himself and missed the playoff game against the Carolina Panthers that season.  He threw seven touchdowns that season and threw another six in relief of Palmer in 2017.
