Another huge deficiency for the 2018 Arizona Cardinals was their linebacking core

It would seem the Arizona Cardinals have improved their linebacking core from a season ago in this offseason.  It seems that way, on paper that is.

Now, can they keep those they picked up healthy enough to make major contributions in 2019?  Let’s hope.  They rid of their best linebacker of a year ago Josh Bynes.

The Starters

Well they moved Chandler Jones back behind the line again in 2019.  In 2017 at linebacker, Jones lead the NFL with 17 sacks.  With the 4-3 alignment in 2018, he had just 13 sacks.

Going back to the 3-4 alignment in 2019 will not only affect Jones but newcomer Terrell Suggs.  Suggs was signed as a free agent from the Baltimore Ravens.  Now he can finish his career in Arizona.

Jordan Hicks came over from the Philadelphia Eagles.  He’s a great pickup if he too can stay healthy.  He’s have off an on injury issues.

Then the Cardinals continue with 2017 first-round pick Haason Reddick.  Some fans have grown frustrated with him but maybe in a new system he finds new life?

Brooks Reed, a former University of Arizona standout, comes over in free agency as well from the Atlanta Falcons.  He is one to watch closely.  He enters his ninth year in the NFL.
