#79 Bill Koman
Koman played for the Cardinals in St. Louis from 1960-1967. He started his career in 1956 with the Baltimore Colts after being drafted in the eighth round (91st overall) of the ’56 NFL Draft out of the University of North Carolina.
He made the Pro Bowl in two of his eight seasons. He started all but seven games over those eight seasons with the Cardinals.
The linebacker had six of his seven career interceptions and recovered 14 fumbles in a Cardinals uniform. He recovered 21 for his career.
Koman played right outside linebacker alongside Dale Meinart and Larry Stallings, also great players with the Cardinals those years. They were a formidable group against the run.
In addition to his two Pro Bowls, he was also honored twice by Sporting News. He was named to the First Team All-Pro in 1963 and 1964. His Pro Bowl seasons were in 1962 and ’64.
