The Arizona Cardinals top 100 players in franchise history, celebrating 100 years of football in 2019 from Chicago to St. Louis to Arizona

Not only is the NFL celebrating 100 years so are the Arizona Cardinals.  Starting in Chicago then to St. Louis, and then finally landing in the desert in Arizona in 1988.

They’ve now been in the desert 30 of those 100 years.  Here we count down from numbers 70-61.

#70 Justin Bethel

The Cardinals always waited for Bethel to grab the starter spot opposite Patrick Peterson.  That never materialized, however Bethel was quite the special teams player while a member of the Cardinals.

He had just four interceptions during his time in Arizona.  However three of those interceptions resulted in touchdowns, so he made them count.

Bethel had a knack for blocking kicks, especially earlier in his career.  His special teams contributions were recognized.  He made three Pro Bowls.

He was also named week 9 NFC Special Teams Player of the Week in 2014.  He one upped that in December of the same season when he was named NFC Special Teams Player of the Month.

In addition Pro Football Writers named him to their First Team Special Teams in 2013 and 2015. Pro Football Focus named him to their First Team Special Teams in 2013 and 2014 and Second Team in 2015.
