#51 John David Crow

Crow was drafted second overall in the first round of the 1958 NFL Draft by the Chicago Cardinals.  he spent seven seasons with the Cardinals in Chicago and St. Louis before finishing his last four NFL seasons with the San Francisco 49ers.

The halfback put up a lot of good numbers while in a Cardinals uniform.  He had 14 touchdowns rushing alone in 1962 on just 751-yards rushing. He had 33 rushing touchdowns along with another 17 receiving for the Cardinals.

He made the Pro Bowl four times in his career, however three of those came with the Cardinals.  One of those was in 1960 when he rushed for 1,071-yards.  He also lead the NFL in yards-per-carry at 5.9-yards.

Not only did he lead the NFL in average-yards-per-carry, he also lead the NFL in total yards from scrimmage in that ’60 season.  He finished with 1,533-yards.

He was named on Pro Football Hall of Fame’s All-1960’s team and was fifth in scoring in the NFL in 1962.  His career-long rush was 85-yards in 1958.  That also happened to be tops in the NFL that season.
