It’s still early in camp but the Arizona Cardinals receivers have not disappointed

When the Arizona Cardinals decided to draft three receivers in the 2019 NFL Draft back in April, it was clear they were quite aware they had a problem they needed to rectify.  They started adding in free agency then really meant business when it came to the draft.

After adding Kevin White in free agency, they added Andy Isabella, Hakeem Butler, and Keesean Johnson in the draft.  Isabella was expected to be the third receiver however Butler and Johnson had also looked very good in camp.

We temper it with the fact they’ve only had four days of practice so far.  They have a long way to go and a lot to learn still.  We also need to seem them in game situations.

Butler had a great day on Sunday in camp practice.  He caught a couple of passes that left fans wanting more and now.  He had one catch in particular in the end zone from backup quarterback Brett Hundley.  It was one handed while falling backwards, very Larry Fitzgerald-esque.

The Cardinals still have four more weeks of camp and preseason before the team readies for the 2019 regular season.  Isabella has shown the speed that was promised.  Johnson has been called by some the best looking of the group yet.

However it plays out the Cardinals look to be secure with at least those three plus second-year receiver Christian Kirk once Fitz retires.  Those four plus Fitz may end up being one of the best receiver rooms in the league in 2019.

They will make mistakes, have no doubt about that.  However when they due, the true mark of a good player is how quickly one learns from his mistakes and limits repeating issues.
