#44 E.J. Junior

Junior was a first round pick, fifth overall, of the St. Louis Cardinals in 1981.  He played his first eight seasons with the Cardinals in St. Louis and Arizona.  He played five more NFL seasons before retiring after the 1993 season.

The linebacker had a career-high five interceptions in 1985 in St. Louis.  He made the Pro Bowl that season.

That ’85 season was one of two seasons in which he made the Pro Bowl.  He also went bowling in 1984.  That season he had 9.5 sacks and was NFC Defensive Player of the Week in Week 13 in ’84.

Also in ’84 he made several 1st Team All-Pro.  UPI, Associated Press, and Newspaper Enterprise Association all named him to their teams.  In ’85, UPI gave him the same honor.

He finished with one career touchdown, a fumble return he had in the inaugural season in Arizona in 1988.  He finished out his career with the Miami Dolphins, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Seattle Seahawks.
