The Arizona Cardinals open the 2019 preseason against the Los Angeles Chargers on Thursday night

It’s that time.  Back to football.  The 2019 version of the Arizona Cardinals will take the field this week in week one of the preseason against the Los Angeles Chargers.

This will be the first of two home preseason games.  They will finish out the preseason on the road over the last two weeks before the regular season begins on September 8th.

What: Los Angeles Chargers at Arizona Cardinals

When: Thursday August 8th 7:00 p.m.

Where: State Farm Stadium, Glendale

TV: NFL Network (national); 12 sports (NBC local)

Radio: Arizona Sports 98.7 FM

It is the first preseason game for new head coach Kliff Kingsbury and rookie quarterback Kyler Murray.  Murray may only get a few snaps but there will be plenty of new faces on the Cardinals sidelines.

Many of those faces will be trying to earn a spot on the final 53-man roster come September.  There are several players to be on the lookout for on both sides of the ball.

The Cardinals have a couple of rookie receivers that we should get a good look at Thursday night including KeeSean Johnson and Hakeem Butler.  Don’t expect to see much of Larry Fitzgerald, if at all.
