Arizona Cardinals-Los Angeles Chargers: 5 who shined
By Scott Allen
The Arizona Cardinals defeated the Los Angeles Chargers 17-13 in preseason opener
There are a lot of takeaways from Thursday night’s Arizona Cardinals win over the Los Angeles Chargers. Not all was good but there certainly was a lot of good to takeaway.
A number of players played well, however these five players shined in the preseason debut. These guys did a lot for their chances to make the 53-man roster in September.
Trent Sherfield
He went from being the man on the bubble at best to probably making this team easily after one preseason game. Sherfield was nothing short of spectacular on Thursday night.
Sherfield caught four passes for 44-yards against the Chargers. He caught a very nice touchdown pass from quarterback Brett Hundley for one of those four receptions.
That wasn’t it however. Sherfield can also ball on special teams. He made a great open field tackle of Chargers punt returner Artavis Scott for no gain. Sherfield was the man on the spot.
