The Arizona Cardinals had a number of players shine on Thursday night but also some guys who showed they have a lot of work still to do

It wasn’t all roses in the Arizona Cardinals 17-13 victory on Thursday night over the Los Angeles Chargers.  There were some bumps in the road.

Missed tackles, poor rushing defense, no pass rush for most part on Chargers quarterbacks.  These five guys showed they still have work to do this preseason and camp.

Hakeem Butler

Butler, the rookie receiver from Iowa State came into camp with a lot of hype.  The first full weekend of camp he looked pretty good in practice, coming down with some difficult catches.

However over the last week of camp and leading into the game, Butler has fallen back a bit.  He’s on the third line of receivers on the latest depth chart.

He missed an easy catch on Thursday night against the Chargers.  In the grand scheme of things, it didn’t seem all that huge of a miss.  However when there is a room of up to 10 receivers that could legitimately make this team, every play counts.

Butler didn’t do himself any favors with the ball that went through his hands.  With KeeSean Johnson and Trent Sherfield playing well, Butler needs to step it up.
