Playing time
We saw rookie quarterback Kyler Murray play just one series against the Chargers last week. On Monday Cardinals coach Kliff Kingsbury indicated Murray will play longer against the Raiders, however the exact amount of plays or series he will run has not yet been determined.
Kingsbury also said for fans to expect more of rookie corner Byron Murphy this week at corner. They are trying to determine starters among Robert Alford, who will more than likely get one spot, and also Tremaine Brock. Chris Jones got a good look last week so he is still in the running as well.
The second preseason game usually nets a little more playing time for starters than the first game but it likely still won’t be much. Don’t expect to see a lot of guys like receiver Larry Fitzgerald or running back David Johnson, although both should get into the game.
Also because of the competition at cornerback, there is likely a chance we don’t see much of Patrick Peterson on Thursday. His practice reps have been limited this week but we don’t know how that will translate to the game.
There is no word on who will or won’t play for the Raiders. Receiver Antonio Brown just returned to practice Tuesday.
