Offensive line

We knew it was going to be a stretch to improve greatly over the 2018 season. However given the injuries the line suffered in 2018, we also figured there might be a chance for them.

Certainly given it is still preseason and guys like Justin Pugh are still injured, there can still be optimism.  However after Thursday night, that optimism is waning and fast.

Pugh might not play in the preseason and that’s fine but they had a hard time protecting quarterback Kyler Murray on Thursday night.  Murray was sacked twice and quarterback Charles Kanoff once.

In the grand scheme of things, that overall aren’t bad numbers.  However the optics didn’t look good. Murray appeared rushed at times on Thursday against the Raiders.  He ended up just 3-8 on the evening.

The running game couldn’t find any holes.  Backup quarterback Brett Hundley was the Cardinals best rusher on Thursday night with three carries for 26-yards.
