Secondary

Another area of concern for the Cardinals.  They got blitzed by all three Raiders quarterbacks on Thursday night.  Derek Carr went 2-2 for 40-yards.  Mike Glennon went 11-14 for 175-yards and two touchdowns, one that went for 53-yards.

Even Nathan Peterman was 8-8 for 41-yards.  That’s the same Peterman that threw five interceptions in one game for the Buffalo Bills in 2017.

Cornerback Robert Alford didn’t play on Thursday night and now word comes out that he could be out quite awhile.  Deatrick Nichols was the one burned on the long touchdown.  Overall they just weren’t that good on Thursday.

Now if Alford returns for the regular season with no issues, they could nurse their way over the first six weeks of the 2019 season when the Cardinals will be without Patrick Peterson due to suspension.

There could still be a chance this secondary is alright. However guys like Budda Baker are going to have to watch out.  He was hit with a very questionable penalty on a helmet hit to the receiver.

dark. Next. Cardinals take it on the chin to Raiders 33-26

These guys can’t afford many mistakes.  Don’t allow the referees to control the tempo and how things are going to go, be smart.
