The Arizona Cardinals lost their week two preseason matchup against the Oakland Raiders 33-26

So, things didn’t go as well in week two as they did in week one for the Arizona Cardinals.  By most accounts, things were peachy with starting quarterback Kyler Murray, looking comfortable and all.

However after Thursday night’s debacle, now many fans have reverted to crisis mode.  It’s two games, two preseason games.  So there has been overreaction both ways over the first two weeks.

Some general thoughts fans have shared since Thursday night. These are to be expected though coming off a 3-13 season expecting to be better in 2019.

Statement: Kyler Murray is trash, he won’t be able to beat NFL defenses

Overreaction? Yes.  He looked good in preseason week one but there were a lot of things that went wrong Thursday night that caused breakdown among starters.  His offensive line has work to do, a lot of work.

Statement: Oh, Robert Alford is injured again, Steve Keim made a bad pickup

Overreaction: Yes.  Look, I know who made this statement and I get it, its frustrating to see the guy brought in to replace Patrick Peterson for six weeks now out himself for an extended period of time.  However, he has started all but one game over the last three seasons, so let’s not start in on Keim with this.

Statement: This is all Steve Keim’s fault, should have been canned for his DUI

Overreaction: Yes.  The guy made a big mistake and paid for it.  For all we know, he’s been clean and sober since.  Has he made some questionable picks and signings?  Absolutely, but who hasn’t?  Players need to be accountable for themselves on the field.

Next. Cardinals-Raiders: 5 whose stock dropped. dark

Statement: Trent Sherfield should be the number two receiver

Overreaction: Well, sort of but I get it.  Yes, he’s gone from a bubble player to a definite making the team in just two preseason games.  He surprised in camp last year, so I guess we shouldn’t be surprised now.
