There were a number of very good performances for the Arizona Cardinals in loss to the Minnesota Vikings

The overall effort was much better.  The starters for the most part look ready to take on the regular season as they saw their last preseason action in their 20-9 loss to the Minnesota Vikings on Saturday.

Some players certainly made a very good claim to a roster spot when the team makes it’s decisions next week.  The 53-man roster must be set by next Saturday August 31st at 1:00pm.

Brooks Reed

By far Saturday was the best Cardinals linebacker Brooks Reed has looked.  He had half a sack but he showed he can still get around offensive linemen at times without issue.

He should be on the roster when September 8th rolls around but we’ll see.  At this point he is more likely to be there than not.

Reed was one of the first free agents to be signed by the Cardinals in the offseason after the Atlanta Falcons released him in February.  He looks to be a nice compliment right now to guys like Chandler Jones.

The big issue with him will be health.  Can he stay healthy enough to help this team?  We shall see.
