The Arizona Cardinals dropped their week three preseason match to the Minnesota Vikings 20-9

For the most part, the Arizona Cardinals got what they needed out of their starters despite what the final scoreboard said on Saturday.  There were a number of good performances.

However there were some performances that could have a negative affect on some players status’ going into the final week of the preseason. These three saw their stock drop in the loss to the Vikings.

Pharoh Cooper

It became clear that Cooper would drop below Damiere Byrd in the competition for the seventh receiver, if the Cardinals decide to keep seven receivers.  If they keep six, neither one likely makes the 53-man roster.

Cooper only had 10-yards on three punt returns.  Byrd had one for 28-yards.  Byrd also shined brighter in the offense.

Cooper had one nice catch at the end of the game as we documented on Saturday during Byrd’s successes.  However Cooper is going to become a victim of the numbers game in Arizona.

If Cooper stays it will be because the Cardinals coaches saw something we didn’t.  Naturally that would have to be what they saw in training camp practices.
