The Arizona Cardinals finish off the 2019 preseason 1-3 and now prepare to make their cuts and head into the regular season

It wasn’t pretty but we didn’t expect it to be.  If this was another regular season game we’d have a whole lot to pick apart but as it is, the Arizona Cardinals go down in defeat to the Denver Broncos 20-7.

The Cardinals started Brett Hundley played pretty decent.  He finished 7-8 for 55-yards on the night.  Then again, he was playing against Broncos backups.

The quarterback that may have made a case for a practice squad spot was Drew Anderson.  He looked better than Charles Kanoff on Thursday night.  Anderson went 9-17 for 118-yards and a touchdown.

The Cardinals scored just six touchdowns in the preseason. It was clear they had no intention of showing much at all, which we should all be fine with.

The Broncos gave the Cardinals every chance to take this one to victory however.  Between Broncos backup quarterbacks Kevin Hogan and Brett Rypien, they threw three interceptions.

The Cardinals also turned the ball over three times.  Once on a Kanoff interception and then two fumbles.  One of the fumbles was by tight end Ricky Seals-Jones after a nice catch and run.  He did not secure the ball and you could see the strip coming from behind.

So now it is time to find out who stays and who goes.  The Cardinals have until 1:00 p.m. on Saturday to make their cuts to get down to a 53-man roster.  However with other teams making cuts, many of those 53 could be gone by Sunday.

Next. Cardinals continue to re-tool roster. dark

There were some guys that made good cases for staying around and others that could have been playing for a chance to be seen by another team.  One of those guys could be receiver A.J. Richardson.  He won’t make the Cardinals roster but had 5 receptions for 67-yards and a touchdown.
