The Arizona Cardinals welcomed a number of training camp participants back on Sunday

Saturday was cut down day for the Arizona Cardinals and the other 31 NFL teams.  On Sunday, those teams created practice squads.

The Arizona Cardinals put together their practice squad on Sunday.  They had some interesting additions.

Seven players were named to the practice squad and another has reportedly agreed to come to the Cardinals as a practice squad member but nothing announced by the team on Sunday.  Once completed, the list will include two quarterbacks.

Those players announced by the Cardinals are quarterback Drew Anderson, tight end Caleb Wilson, linebacker Dante Booker, cornerback Nate Brooks, tight end Darrell Daniels, linebacker Vontarrius Dora, and receiver A.J. Richardson.  The biggest surprise there is Daniels.

Brooks and Dora were likely close to making the roster.  Booker, Wilson, and Richardson all had a good preseason and deserve the chance to continue on with the team.  Richardson made his most noise when it counted last Thursday against the Denver Broncos in the team’s final preseason game.

Wilson seemed to be more reliable to Ricky Seals-Jones and Daniels.  Seals-Jones was cut on Saturday but was claimed by the Cleveland Browns on Sunday.

Anderson meanwhile was one of two quarterbacks reportedly returning.  Kyle Sloter, who was cut by the Minnesota Vikings on Saturday, announced via his Twitter handle on Sunday morning he was going to be joining the Cardinals.

The Cardinals have not announced Sloter as part of the practice squad as of yet.  It had been originally reported by NFL Network he was going to work out with the Detroit Lions on Monday.  However that was one hour prior to Sloter making his announcement.

We will likely hear something on the Sloter front on Monday.  There are officially still three spots to fill but it is nice to see most of the spots being filled by guys who spent their training camp with the Cardinals.
