The Arizona Cardinals have two new quarterbacks leading the way in 2019

After the Arizona Cardinals finished 3-13 with the worst record in the NFL in 2018, the team knew it had to change something.  Although Josh Rosen wasn’t given much to work with and many felt he should have been given another chance, the Cardinals went in another direction.

With the first pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, they took who they hope will be their franchise quarterback for many many years.  They drafted Kyler Murray at number one.

Kyler Murray

His numbers at Oklahoma in 2018 were off the charts.  He passed for 4,361-yards with 42 touchdowns and only seven interceptions for the Sooners in 2018.

Those were numbers the Cardinals felt were too difficult to pass up.  How it will translate to the NFL remains to be seen but with head coach Kliff Kingsbury in the fold, it is an offensive system the Cardinals new starting quarterback is familiar with.

Fantasy value: Buyer beware early on.  We don’t know what we are going to see quite yet.  The Cardinals did not run anything in preseason we will see in the regular season.  He might be worth taking a shot at as a backup.
