A decent first injury report as far as the Arizona Cardinals go in preparation for their season opener

Here’s something we aren’t used to seeing.  The Arizona Cardinals with a very short injury report for their first practice ahead of a regular season game in 2019.

The Cardinals listed three players on their injury report on Wednesday.  The most important list will be the one we see on Friday, two days ahead of the arrival of the Detroit Lions.

The only offensive player on the injury report was offensive lineman Lamont Gaillard.  He did not practice at all due to a knee injury.  No word on how serious it is.

Two Cardinals linebackers also made the list.  One of them was Haason Reddick.  He’s been battling a nagging knee injury the entire training camp and preseason.

He did say he isn’t going to push it, wants to make sure he’s 100 percent before giving it a go.  He would prefer no setbacks.  Funny enough, Cardinals fans feel the same way.

The team should be able to take care of business if Reddick isn’t able to go on Sunday.  Reddick did make his way out to the field on Wednesday but was officially listed as limited.

The other linebacker on the list was Ezekiel Turner.  Turner had a nice preseason to make the 53-man roster.  He has a hand injury he is dealing with.

In 2018, this may have been more of a cause for panic, as the Cardinals struggled with depth at linebacker.  This year could end up being a different case.

The position should still be under a watchful eye however.  Free agent signing Jordan Hicks has had injury issues in the past, but it is good to see him out there so far at 100 percent.

For now, no one has been ruled out of the game against the Lions.  As for the Lions, they had five players limited in their Wednesday practice, the biggest name being defensive end Trey Flowers.
