The Arizona Cardinals match up against the Detroit Lions on Sunday for the seventh time in eight seasons

Both the Arizona Cardinals and Detroit Lions are teetering on the same level of expectations in 2019 after both teams failed to meet expectations in 2018.  The Cardinals finished 3-13 and the Lions 6-10.

However there is still a definite sense the Lions are still a bit ahead of where the Cardinals are.  We will find out on Sunday but the Lions are the favorite coming into State Farm Stadium.  What we will also find out about are some Lions players who the Cardinals should be on the watch for.

Devon Kennard

Detroit has a decent pass rush and one guy the Cardinals need to keep their eye on is Kennard.  If you recognize the last name, well, you should.

Kennard is the son of Derek Kennard, former Cardinals offensive lineman.  Kennard also played high school in the valley at Desert Vista.

Last season Kennard put together his best professional season yet.  He had seven sacks and 14 total quarterback hits.

After spending his first four seasons with the New York Giants, Kennard came over to the Lions and started all 15 games he played in.  It was the first time in Kennard’s career he started every game he played in.

Hopefully the Cardinals have done their homework and keep an eye on the linebacker.  He should be amp’d up to be playing in front of family and friends.
