Guards/Centers

G: Justin Pugh, J.R. Sweezy, Lamont Gaillard, Jeremy Vujnovich

C: A.Q. Shipley, Mason Cole

Pugh returns from an injury that ended his first season in Arizona after moving over from the New York Giants.  The Cardinals will need a healthy Pugh all season to have a chance at improving the run from 2018.

Sweezy as we said earlier, comes over from the Seahawks.  The Cardinals arguably swiped the Seahawks best offensive lineman off the free agent market.

Gaillard backs Pugh up but he will also be out for the season opener against the Lions due to a knee injury.  That leaves Mason Cole as Pugh’s backup.

Cole is probably the most versatile of the group.  He will back up both Pugh at left guard and Shipley at center.  He and Shipley were in the closest training camp competition at any position, both listed as first on the depth chart the entire preseason.

dark. Next. 5 Lions the Cardinals should be worried about

Speaking of Shipley, he returns from an ACL injury suffered in training camp last season.  That kept him out all of 2018 but he returns strong, as he participated in the entire 2019 camp.
