The Arizona Cardinals got a tie on Sunday against the Detroit Lions but there is still much room for improvement

For three quarters on Sunday, this piece could have had a number of players, statistics, or situations on it.  Even those that played well for the Arizona Cardinals still have things to work on after their tie with the Detroit Lions.

There are some things though we would like to see improvement from not only come next week against the Baltimore Ravens, but going beyond next week.  There were good performances on both sides of the ball but struggles on each side as well.

Third down efficiency

They managed to complete some third downs late in the game.  However for the afternoon, the Cardinals were just 9-22 on third down conversions.

Yes, they had some rust from guys and some of the newer guys maybe appeared a little shell-shocked.  The Cardinals simply need to do better on third downs going forward, especially in hostile environments on the road, such as the one they face next week against the Ravens.

The fact they got it to near 50 percent is a testament to finally finding their groove in the fourth quarter and overtime on Sunday.  Now, they need to continue working on it this week and beyond.
