The Arizona Cardinals made a roster move on Saturday afternoon

With the Carolina Panthers coming to Glendale on Sunday afternoon, the Cardinals seem to clearly be concerned with the offense getting going and their ability to block Carolina defenders. They made a roster move, letting an offensive lineman go.

The Cardinals released offensive lineman Jeremy Vujnovich to make room for tight end Darrell Daniels coming off the practice squad.  The Cardinals also worked out a number of tight ends this past Tuesday.

It is clear the Cardinals are trying to find some better blockers up front.  It does make you wonder about the other tight ends on the roster Charles Clay and Maxx Williams.

Williams told azcentral’s Bob McManaman that he didn’t care if he was asked to run block, pass block, catch the ball, whatever was to be done.  He just wants to win football games.  That is the best attitude to have but it certainly seems like with the tryouts and this move look for the Cardinals to be planning to run more on Sunday.

The Cardinals also earlier this week restructured the contract of  linebacker Chandler Jones.  So, behind the scenes the Cardinals could be planning on making a move another move here soon, whether it is via free agency or a trade.

The Cardinals have one more week remaining with the first claim of waivers.  After next week, it will revert to team records.  As of right now, the Miami Dolphins are on pace to take over the first waiver claim in the NFL for this season and beyond.

Next. Cardinals: 3 Panthers to watch for. dark

While this team will likely never have a 50/50 balance between run and pass, maybe a little more emphasis on the run game is in the works this week.  No NFL team really finds that true balance week in and week out now.  Game situation will dictate everything.
