Getting Fitz his due during garbage time

It almost didn’t happen at all, however the Cardinals did find a way to get Cardinals receiver Larry Fitzgerald the receptions he needed to go ahead of Tony Gonzalez for number 2 all time on the NFL receptions list.  But the fact it didn’t happen when the game was still in doubt was very disappointing.

It was interesting he only needed 5 receptions coming into the game to get this done.  However he only had 1 reception at halftime.  Murray was simply not looking for him as early as he was in previous games.

At least after the touchdown score with 10 minutes left, it still felt like plenty of time to get it done.  With the Cardinals on the road next week at the Cincinnati Bengals, this was the last chance to allow him to get the milestone at home.

It finally happened but not without a heart stopping moment on the tying reception.  Fitz fumbled the ball.  However his knee was ruled down and on the next play he got his record breaking reception.  Its just too bad when it came after the game was no longer in doubt and made it seem like an anti-climatic moment.
