Andy Lee

For a guy who didn’t into the game much on Sunday, he was every bit as important.  Lee, who had to miss a game a couple of weeks ago due to a hip flexor, looked very good on Sunday.

Lee didn’t have to punt for the first time until the third quarter.  He ended up punting 3 times against the Falcons.

Lee punted for 52-yards per punt average.  Of those punts, 2 of them pinned the Falcons inside the 20.  The yards are great but when a punter can pin the opponent deep, that is where the value is added.

Lee’s longest punt on Sunday went for 59-yards.  That one was early in the fourth quarter when the Falcons were mounting their comeback.  His 59-yard punt put the Falcons at their own 17-yard line after a 10-yard return.

Unfortunately the Cardinals defense couldn’t come up with the stop after that punt but the fact that they have Lee as a weapon like that, especially later in games, is something that can not be overstated. It’s great to see Lee healthy again.
