Arizona Cardinals receiver Christian Kirk had a nice return to the field on Sunday

He may have not found the end zone but Arizona Cardinals receiver Christian Kirk showed just how much they missed him on Sunday.  He returned to the field for the first time since September 30th when he left the game late with an injured ankle.

Kirk led the team on Sunday with 8 receptions against the Saints.  No one else had more than 3 catches on the afternoon.

He was able to get 79-yards out of those 8 receptions.  He also had a rush for 19-yards.  It was a beautiful end around.

Kirk wasn’t going to play until he was at 100 percent.  He looked at 100 percent on Sunday.  He isn’t a one-man wrecking crew though, at least not yet.

The Cardinals will need much more where that came from against the San Francisco 49ers on Thursday night.  However he will need more help.

They also need to find Kirk a way to find the end zone, something we wish we could see more receivers do.  They only had one legitimate chance at a touchdown catch on Sunday and that was from Larry Fitzgerald.

Kirk could also be a viable fantasy option week in and week out with efforts like he had Sunday.  The key again is scoring.

Kirk’s biggest play last season came against the 49ers.  He scored on a 75-yard touchdown reception in their first meeting in 2018 in San Francisco on the offense’s first drive of the game.  It was a beautiful bomb from then quarterback Josh Rosen.

That is the type of play we are wanting to see more often from current Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray.  Murray has thrown a couple of nice bombs but has not connected on anything like what Kirk hooked up on with Rosen last season.

The chemistry between Kirk and Murray is there though, you can see it.  Just keep feeding him the ball and good things will happen.
