With a short week to prepare, it may not be a pretty game for the Arizona Cardinals Thursday night

It’s bad enough the San Francisco 49ers are 7-0 coming in.  The Arizona Cardinals have to deal with them on a short week, 4 days after the dispatched of the Carolina Panthers 51-13, a team the Cardinals lost to in week 3 by a score of 38-20.

Granted that means the 49ers also only get 4 days to prepare but the Cardinals are coming off a 31-9 loss to the New Orleans Saints.  They may not know what hit them by the time the game ends on Thursday night.

The 49ers are 9-point favorites.  However so were the Saints.  This game is at home.  There is a very good chance this one will not be that close.

They may surprise us for a bit though like they did against the Saints.  It wasn’t until the 4th quarter when things got out of hand.

They are already crippled in the running game.  Chase Edmonds and David Johnson will both miss the game.  They traded for Kenyan Drake on Monday.  He had his first practice with the Cardinals on Tuesday.

It will be a trial by fire, so don’t expect miracles against a very good 49ers defense.  Also, the 49ers quite possibly will force the Cardinals into their first turnover in a month.

The Cardinals have not turned the ball over since September 30th against the Seattle Seahawks.  As for the 49ers, when asked about what they need to work on if anything, coach Kyle Shanahan on Tuesday told the media Jimmy Garoppolo threw an interception that wasn’t good, but he was grasping for straws, saying “no one is perfect”.

Next. Cardinals trade for Drake leaves questions. dark

It’ll be far from perfection for both sides most likely on Thursday night.  A 49ers win will break their 8-game losing streak to the Cardinals.  The last 49ers victory over the Cardinals was on December 28, 2014 in the season finale when the Cardinals had to start Ryan Lindley at quarterback.
