Find new Defensive Coordinator

Vance Joseph seems like a nice enough guy.  He certainly has come in with the right attitude and seems like he wants to win.

However it has not translated to the field.  It is partly personnel but it is also scheme.  They’ve been very inconsistent in getting pressure on the quarterback.

They’ve also been bad in pass defense.  They are on pace to break records on opposing quarterback completion percentage.

They play way too loose on receivers and tight ends.  They have a big problem getting opposing offenses off the field on third downs. The 49ers on Thursday night went 11-17 on third down conversions.

Two weeks ago against the New York Giants, the Cardinals got 8 sacks on quarterback Daniel Jones.  Last week against New Orleans they got zero sacks.  On Thursday night against the 49ers, they got 1 Chandler Jones sack.

Something needs to change here.  Whatever it is Joesph is dialing up is not working.
