They don’t give trophies midseason but these Arizona Cardinals deserve some accolades with 7 games remaining over the last 8 weeks of the season

Despite what the record says in the standings, as the Arizona Cardinals sit at 3-5-1, there have been some pretty darn good performances for the upstart team.  The rebuild is still in progress but that’s the key word there, progress.

The Cardinals only won 3 games all of 2018 and they’ve been in every game so far this season.  There is still work to be done but here are some midseason awards.

Most Valuable Player

Nominees: Kyler Murray, Larry Fitzgerald, Chandler Jones

Winner: Murray

Suffice it to say, the Cardinals made the right choice in taking Murray with the number one overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.  They traded their first round pick from a year earlier in Josh Rosen, much to the chagrin of some fans.

It has worked out so far though.  Murray has not lost a single fumble this season and has thrown only 4 interceptions.  He hasn’t thrown an interception in 5 weeks, though he came close last Thursday against the San Francisco 49ers.

He’s thrown 9 touchdown passes.  He had 2 nice tosses for touchdowns to fellow rookie KeeSean Johnson and Andy Isabella last Thursday night.  He’s the best offensive player and the best rookie so far as well.
