After another frustrating loss on Sunday for the Arizona Cardinals, there are some things that need to change
If the Arizona Cardinals want any momentum going into 2020 over the final stretch of the 2019 season, there are some things the Cardinals should address and change, now. There are a lot more, but we’ll start with the top items.
The Cardinals had a 26-23 lead under a minute against the San Francisco 49ers before giving up 2 touchdowns in the final minute to lose another game to go to 3-7-1. This is a team that just from an offensive standpoint, should be 8-3 at worst.
That said, there should be changes on both sides of the ball. In order to become a more complete team, the offense and defense need to make changes.
Penalties
The Cardinals had some bad penalties on Sunday, although it’s not what most fans are talking about right now. However on Sunday the Cardinals had 10 penalties called on them.
Sure not every call was the correct one. The officials had another bad day but good teams overcome those.
That said, they need better execution. They can’t have back to back neutral zone infractions like they did on Sunday.
They had a couple of bad calls go against them, including a bad pass interference call on linebacker Joe Walker. However, some of the calls were absolutely correct. In close games, you can’t commit bad penalties.
