The remaining portion of the Arizona Cardinals current schedule appears to be stocked with some extremely winnable matchups

With just three wins under their belt in 2019, the Arizona Cardinals will be looking to end the campaign on a high note. Head coach Kliff Kingsbury appears to have the club headed in the right direction, but the team’s fans would love to bear witness to a few more triumphs as well. From the looks of the squad’s remaining schedule, Cards loyalists may get their wish.

Four out of the five games left on the slate appear to be extremely winnable. Though victories have been hard to come by, most of Arizona’s matchups in ’19 have been highly competitive affairs. In fact, Kyler Murray and the boys gave the division-leading San Francisco 49ers quite a run for their money in both of their clashes this season.

The home stretch begins this weekend, when the Cardinals play host to the floundering Los Angeles Rams. It appears as if the NFL’s defensive coordinators are now finding ways to derail Sean McVay’s offensive attack. This past Monday night, quarterback Jared Goff and his teammates struggled mightily during a 45-6 defeat to the Baltimore Ravens.

Arizona will remain at home a week from Sunday, when the injury-depleted Pittsburgh Steelers invade State Farm Stadium. The absence of starting signal-caller Ben Roethlisberger has had a devastating effect on the “Black and Gold’s” ability to score points. Pittsburgh has now turned to undrafted rookie Devlin Hodges to lead the unproductive offense after Mason Rudolph failed miserably.

The final home contest of the year will take place on December 15th, when Baker Mayfield and the disappointing Cleveland Browns visit the desert. This past offseason’s “sexy” pick to represent the AFC in the Super Bowl has limped to a 5-6 record, and may have to win out to make the playoffs. The Browns are led by overmatched head coach Freddie Kitchens, who was an assistant with the Cards for 11 campaigns (2007-17).

Arizona’s most difficult remaining game will occur on December 22nd, when the group flies north to meet the Seattle Seahawks. Pete Carroll’s bunch is off to a 9-2 start, and were able to beat the Cardinals handily back in September (27-10). However, Big Red has prevailed in three out of the last four contests played at Seattle’s CenturyLink Stadium.

The season finale will take place on December 29th, when the Cards are matched up with Los Angeles once again. There’s a pretty good chance that both organizations will have nothing to play for but pride during their rematch.

It’s entirely possible that Arizona will be able to complete a division sweep of their division rival on that day, and the optimism that is sure to surround the 2020 campaign can officially begin.
