Arizona Cardinals get 2 offensive weapons back
By Scott Allen
The Arizona Cardinals will have all 3 running backs playing against the Los Angeles Rams
First, it is a great sight to see that Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray is active on Sunday against the Los Angeles Rams. He was listed as questionable on Friday with a hamstring injury.
Murray is active, as is received Damiere Byrd. Byrd was a nice find for the Cardinals in the offseason. While Byrd goes active, rookie receiver KeeSean Johnson is inactive against the Rams.
So in addition to getting Byrd back, the Cardinals also get running back Chase Edmonds back Sunday afternoon. He will backup Kenyan Drake. David Johnson is also active but we’ll see how much work he actually gets in.
The Cardinals will have Larry Fitzgerald, Christian Kirk, Damiere Byrd, Andy Isabella, and Pharoh Cooper helping out Murray on the receiving end of things. With the top 3 running backs active for the Cardinals, that sends running back Zach Zenner to the inactive list.
Offensive linemen Lamont Gaillard and Joshua Miles are also inactive against the Rams on Sunday. The other inactives for the Cardinals are on defense. Cornerback Chris Jones, linebacker Pete Robertson, and defensive lineman Michael Dogbe will all sit out Sunday.
As for the Rams, the biggest inactive is tight end Gerald Everett. We all know just how much the Cardinals love covering tight ends. Everett has had some big catches this season.
Outside of Everett, the Rams inactives are receiver Nsimba Webster, linebacker Natrez Patrick, defensive back Darious Williams, offensive linemen Jamil Demby and Rob Havenstein, and defensive tackle Tanzel Smart. The Rams will have all of their top skills players available.
Murray’s hamstring injury will have to be watched. Hopefully it will not hinder him much in the running game against the Rams. His ability to run is a big part of what he does and who he is.
