With the report the Arizona Cardinals will be going to Mexico in 2020, an schedule prediction update

Not sure why the NFL has left this hanging out there but when ESPN’s John Sutcliffe announced on Wednesday that the Arizona Cardinals would be one of the teams going to Mexico to play a game in 2020, he said they would be the home team.  However a rival was yet to be determined.

Interesting.  After a day to digest this news and a lot of season ticket holders rightfully concerned their season ticket prices won’t go down for losing one game, it would only be prudent to update the schedule prediction we posted just under two weeks ago.

We had the schedule start with a Monday Night Football affair at home against the Buffalo Bills. Their first road game was going to be a week later at the New York Jets.

Now, the Monday Night Football game may end up being the Mexico game.  Of course, they could still stick it on Sunday afternoon but this is the least the league could do.

How we had it playing out on January 19th:

Week 1 – Buffalo – Monday Night

Week 2 – @ New York Jets

Week 3 – @ Carolina

Week 4 – Los Angeles Rams

Week 5 – @ Dallas

Week 6 – BYE

Week 7 – @ San Francisco

Week 8 – Seattle – Thursday Night

Week 9 – @ New England

Week 10 – Miami

Week 11 – Philadelphia

Week 12 – @ New York Giants

Week 13 – Detroit

Week 14 – @ Los Angeles Rams

Week 15 – San Francisco

Week 16 – Washington

Week 17 – @ Seattle

So what should it look like now?  Since Arizona will be the home team, the road team will consist of one of the eight teams listed above.  Sutcliffe suggested possibly San Francisco or Miami.

A new prediction:

Week 1 – Buffalo

Week 2 – @ New York Jets

Week 3 – @ Carolina

Week 4 – Los Angeles Rams

Week 5 – @ Dallas

Week 6 – Philadelphia

Week 7 – San Francisco – Monday Night (Mexico)

Week 8 – BYE

Week 9 – @ Los Angeles Rams

Week 10 – Miami

Week 11 – @ New England

Week 12 – @ San Francisco

Week 13 – Seattle – Thursday Night

Week 14 – @ New York Giants

Week 15 – Detroit

Week 16 – Washington

Week 17 – @ Seattle

That’s a lot of miles.  It is interesting in a year in which the Cardinals will have to travel back east 4 times, they would also be made to surrender a home game in Mexico City.

Next. Backup quarterback options for the Cardinals. dark

It doesn’t make a lot of sense.  Then again, when have things ever made sense?
