Julian Blackmon, DB, Utah

Pac-12 fans in Arizona should be familiar with Blackmon.  Hopefully the Cardinals are as well.  He didn’t put up superstar numbers but they should be good enough to garner some attention at the Combine.

Blackmon had 4 interceptions last season and in 2017.  Though he had just 1 interception in 2018, he had 10 passes defensed.  His 4 interceptions in 2019 lead the Pac-12 Conference.

Interceptions in both 2018 and 2019 lead to a touchdown return each year as well.  He doesn’t give up field position once the ball is in his hands.

Sports Illustrated has Blackmon ranked 8th at his position and CBS Sports ranks him 9th.  This likely puts him in the fourth or fifth round of the draft.

He could be a good young player to bring in at safety and learn behind a Budda Baker and join the ranks of other young safeties Jalen Thompson and Deionte Thompson who are already in the fold. No one ever complained of having too much depth in the defensive secondary.
